Since its inception, the Butterfly Lodge Museum has been run entirely by volunteers. We cherish our “regulars” and invite everyone who has an interest in “The Butterfly,” and the available time, to get acquainted with the museum, its programming, and its facilities.
And what opportunities are there for volunteers? Whether one signs up for the summer season or is simply interested in a limited commitment, he or she will find hours filled with camaraderie and usefulness – an unbeatable combination! We always have need of additional docents, gift shop personnel; children’s program leaders/helpers; set-up people for programs; publicity; building and grounds maintenance, etc. We enlist veteran volunteers to welcome and mentor new “recruits.”
The museum’s season opens for volunteers on our Wednesday spring workday – a week before the Memorial Day weekend. Orientations for volunteers are held at the beginning of the season, and throughout the season as needed. We also have a volunteer appreciation luncheon each year in August and a final workday after the museum closes on Labor Day.
Please let us know of your interest by e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org); U.S. mail (P.O. Box 76, Greer, AZ 85927); or call the museum at (928) 735-7514 during the season, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
